Daniel Albrecht of Switzerland left an Austrian hospital saying he wants to return to top-level racing after a crash that left him comatose for three weeks. Albrecht, 25, spoke to reporters for the first time since he had brain and lung injuries in a Jan. 22 fall in Kitzbühel, Austria.
Albrecht ruled out competing next season. He was kept in an induced coma for three weeks by doctors in Austria to help him recover from internal injuries sustained when crashing in downhill training on the Streif course.
He lost control on the final jump and hit the slope hard before sliding headfirst to a stop. He said he had no memory of the crash.By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
